Revenue Stamp

A revenue stamp (収入印紙 shū'nyū inshi) are stamps available at Japanese post offices which are used in place of cash to pay certain fees, particularly visa-related procedures at regional immigration centers bureaus.

How to Get

These stamps can be acquired at any local post office as well as larger immigration bureaus (including the Nagoya one). Simply hand over the amount of cash that you need to pay (for example, ¥6000 for a multiple re-entry permit), and you'll receive a stamp for the equivalent amount of money. Depending on the denomination of money, you may receive more than one stamp that add up to the corresponding amount.
