Ferry Travel

There are two ferry lines in Mie which connect central Mie to Chūbu International Airport, as well as one that connects Toba to the other side of the bay.

Tsu Airport Line

The Tsu Airport Line is a high-speed ferry that connects Nagisa-machi in Tsu Station and Centrair.

The ride takes 40 minutes and costs ¥2400.

To get to the ferry, there is a bus running from Tsu Station to the ferry docks that is timed to connect with each departing ferry. Taxis are an option as well, but expensive for just one person.

Connecting bus from Tsu Station

  • The bus that leaves Tsu Station to connect with the ferries leaves each hour at 27 after the hour. The bus stop is immediately in front of the entrance to Ust Tsu, out the JR side of the station.
  • The bus that goes back to Tsu Station from the ferry docks will be waiting just outside the ferry building for each arriving boat of passengers.
  • The ride costs ¥200 and takes about 15 minutes.

Matsusaka Bell Line

The Matsusaka Bell Line is a high-speed ferry that connects Matsusaka Port and Centrair.

The ride takes 50 minutes and costs ¥2700.

To get to the ferry, there is a bus running from Matsusaka Station to the ferry docks that is timed to connect with the boats. Taxis are an option as well, but expensive for just one person.

Connecting bus from Matsusaka Station

  • The bus that leaves Matsusaka Station to connect with the ferries leaves the station 30 minutes before each ferry leaves. The bus stop outside the Kintetsu side of Matsusaka Station, just past a coffee shop and in front of a car rental agency.
  • The bus that goes back to Matsusaka Station from the ferry docks will be waiting just outside the ferry building for each arriving boat of passengers.
  • The ride costs ¥100 and takes about 12 minutes.

Ise Wan Ferry

The Ise Wan Ferry (伊勢湾フェリー) connects Toba to the Irago Peninsula across the bay on the southeastern edge of Aichi Prefecture.

Cars can travel on this ferry, and so it is a potent time-saver if traveling to places like Hamamatsu or Tokyo.
