The AJET Welcome Beach Party is an annual event held in August each year at Kō Beach in Shima, usually the first weekend after the arrival of Group B. It gets most of the incoming JETs in Mie on the same beach for a full day and many recontacting JETs are there as well as many of them are interested in meeting the new JETs.

Train Times - 2010 Schedule

Though any number of trains can get you to Ugata Station by 10:45am, each year a big group of JETs all take the same train to Shima. Those who would like to ride down with a bunch of other JETs should take the following train.

If your station is not listed, please contact an RA or AJET member and they will figure out what time you need to be at your nearest station.

Coming from the north (Nagoya Line)

You will be riding a Kintetsu express train bound for Toba (鳥羽).

• Kuwana: 07:53 (If coming from the Hokusei Line, be on the train leaving Sohara at 07:06)
• Kintetsu-Tomida: 08:00
• Kintetsu-Yokkaichi: 08:06 (If coming from the Yunoyama Line, be on the train leaving Naka-Komono at 07:24)
• Shiohama: 08:10
• Ise-Wakamatsu: 08:17 (If coming from the Suzuka Line, be on the train leaving Hiratachō at 08:01)
• Shiroko: 08:21
• Edobashi: 08:30
• Tsu: 08:33 (If coming from the JR via Kameyama, be on the train leaving Kameyama at 07:49)
• Tsu-Shinmachi: 08:36
• Hisai: 08:41
• Ise-Nakagawa: 08:47
• Matsusaka: 08:54
• Iseshi: 09:09
• Ujiyamada: 09:11
• Isuzugawa: 09:14
• Toba: 09:37 (everyone will switch to a Kashikojima-bound local at Toba)

Coming from the west (Osaka Line)

You will be riding a Kintetsu express train bound for Ujiyamada (宇治山田), and will change to an express train bound for Toba (鳥羽) at Ise-Nakagawa.

Those coming from west of Nabari (aka Nara Prefecture) will take a local train bound for Nabari (名張), and then switch to the aforementioned Ujiyamada express.

• Ise-Nakagawa: 08:23 (arrival), change to express for Toba which leaves at 08:47.

Coming from the south (Kisei Line)

Those coming from the south can take either an ungodly-early local or a limited express, and will change to a Kintetsu express train bound for Toba (鳥羽) at Matsusaka.

• Owase: 05:29 (local), 07:08 (limited express)
• Kii-Nagashima: 06:13 (local), 07:30 (limited express)
• Misedani: 06:54 (local), 07:57 (limited express)

• Matsusaka: Change to Kintetsu express for Toba which leaves at 08:54

Coming from the City of Nara

• Via Local/Express - Yamato-Saidaiji: 06:27 local bound for Kashihara-jingū-mae (switch to 07:04 Nabari-bound local at Yamato-Yagi)
• Via Limited Express - Yamato-Saidaiji: 07:44 limited express bound for Kashikojima (switch to 9:37 Kashikojima-bound local at Toba -- see above)
