Hello Song

Can work well even in classes with very challenged kids.

First time around:

Hello! Hello! Hello, How are you?
I'm fine. I'm fine.
I hope that you are too.

Second time around:

Hello! Hello! Hello, (insert name here)
I'm fine. I'm fine.
I hope that you are too.

Then you go over to all the students and practice shaking hands.

Hello, My Name Is...

Have the kids sit in a circle. start with one person...

  • First person
    My name is daiki.
  • Next person
    Your name is daiki.
    My name is yuhi.
  • Third person
    His name is daiki.
    Your name is yuhi.
    My name is koji.

I usually just make them name two people before them to practice... his/her, your and my.

Maybe just do one person in front of them and practice your and my only depending on the type of kids you teach.

Pass the Present

Like Hot Potato.

Take an empty gift box and have the students take turns passing it around a circle while saying:

  • Here you are.
  • Thank you.

When the music stops the student with the parcel is out, or you can just have the students pass it around if you can't have music.

Spinning Clock

Spin it around and we practice what greeting we say when.

  • 09:00am - Good Morning
  • 12:00pm - Let's Eat
  • 03:00pm - Goodbye!

Add more greetings if you think they can handle it.
