If you're looking to save money on travel costs, night buses can be a very economical option for would be travelers.

There are a variety of companies you can book with and all the buses are fairly similar. Some have toilets, some don't, but either way the bus will make a number of rest stops throughout your journey so you can stretch your legs, grab a snack or use a toilet.

Night buses are a great option if you can sleep through anything, but if you're a light or fussy sleeper you might want to research other options.

Bus Companies

1. Willer Express - Website (In English) - Departs from Nagoya Stn. to the following locations:

  • Sendai
  • Fukushima
  • Tokyo
  • Tokyo Disneyland
  • Kanagawa
  • Osaka
  • Okayama
  • Hiroshima
  • Fukuoka

(Avg. departure time is 11:00 PM with arrival at your destination between 6-8 AM) Willer is really nice because they have "relax buses" with lots of extra leg room and reclining seats -- different from a regular tour bus like most companies use.

2. KiraKira Hot Dog Bus - Website (In Japanese) - Departs from Nagoya Stn. to the following locations:
