Directions

By Train

Kintetsu

Hunky Dory is very close to a JR stop, so all people coming via Kintetsu should get themselves to Matsusaka Station, and then read the next section...

JR

  1. Get yourself to Tokuwa (徳和) Station, which is on the JR Kisei Main Line. It is the single stop that lies between Matsusaka and Taki, which are both express stops. From Matsusaka, take a local heading south (towards Taki, Ise, Toba, Shingū, etc.) and it is only one stop. From Taki, take a local heading north (towards Kameyama) and it is only one stop.
  2. Once you are to the station, go out the only exit and walk straight down the road you are facing as you exit the station. Walk for 100m, and it'll be on your right.

By Taxi

If you are at Matsusaka Station but don't want to wait for a JR local, you can take a taxi there. For 4 people it'll be between ¥200-¥300 per person. Just ask for Hunky Dory. If they don't know the place, then ask for the Okuwa next to Komeri (there are two Okuwa's in the area so be sure to specify the one next to Komeri!) on Mie-kō Dōri. Hunky's is right near the Okuwa.

By Car

Coming from Tsu / Hisai

Take the 23 down until you get to the turnoff for central Matsuaka (just after Japan Rent-a-Car. Look for it because it goes to the left and you go under some tunnel. Turn left after the tunnel, and come out to a place where you have to turn right again onto the street you want to be on). If you didn't take the turnoff for the 23 and are on the road that becomes the 42, keep following the 42 to the right at the intersection just past Sushi Roll. You will go over an overpass and you should make the next left (there will be a policebox immediately after the overpass-turn there). Follow that road (curve to the right if there's a fork) and you will hit Hunky Dory after it seems like you've been on the road for too long and it's just rice fields. Hunky Dory will be on the left after an intersection.

Coming from Ise / Toba

Drive along the 23 from Ise, go past Meiwa Jusco and you'll see a set of traffic lights at the first intersection of the 23 and 42. Turn left on to the 42, it goes over a bridge over the Kintetsu lines and hits a double set of traffic lights with a Ministop and gas station just beyond them (there are lights directly after the bridge, but you should see the double set just beyond that). Turn right at the first lights (the smaller of the two roads), past JR Tokuwa Station and Hunky Dory is right there before the next traffic light.

Coming from Taki / Owase

If you come from Owase on the 42, you will come to an intersection with a WAY video rental store when you're entering Matsusaka. It's just down the road from Abu Cafe (right side), some car dealerships, and a family mart. Anyway, take a right on that road and basically follow it for a long time. You will pass a few Circle K's and finally get to an Okuwa (left side). You should park at the Okuwa. If you walk back out to the road you were on, and keep going in the direction you were going, Hunky Dory will be just past the next stoplights (two that are close to each other). it's right by a bunch of little shops.

Nearby

  • Okuwa
Big grocery store and a great place to park your car.
