Nagano

Nagano (長野) is the capital of Nagano Prefecture and is also the prefecture's largest city. It is well-known worldwide as the site of the 1998 Winter Olympics. In Japan, it also largely known as the site of a significant temple by the name of Zenkōji, and the snow monkeys are quite famous as well especially among foreign tourists.

Snow Monkeys

Jigokudani Yaen-koen is in a small valley within the Joshin-Etsu Kogen National Park. The monkeys in this valley are Japanese macaques.
