The Nagoya Immigration Bureau (名古屋入国管理局 nagoya nyūkoku kanri kyoku) is the main immigration office in the Chūbu region of Japan and the most well-staffed and efficient office in the area for taking care of matters relating to immigration (re-entry permits, visas, etc). There is however a branch location in Yokkaichi.

Payment

Note that most procedures at the immigration bureau require a fee, and all fees have to be paid via postage cash stamps -- not in actual cash -- which can be picked up at any post office.

Luckily, the Nagoya bureau has a post office within the building, so you don't have to worry about picking these up in advance.

At Nagoya Station, transfer to the Aonami Line (あおなみ線) and ride it to Nagoya Keibajō-mae (名古屋競馬場前) Station. This trip on the Aonami Line will take 13 minutes and cost ¥260 one-way. Trains leave every 15 minutes (every 10 minutes during morning rush hour).

The immigration bureau is a one-minute walk east of Nagoya Keibajō-mae Station. The building has a Lawson in it.
