Directions
Like a combination of old school telephone and run & touch karuta.
Split students into teams (usually 2-3) and line them up facing the front. Tell the first two students to come to you and whisper one of the vocabulary words to them. They run to the back of their team and convey the message. They pass the word forward by whispering (stress the importance of quiet to them) and the people at the front run and touch the flashcard. The fastest team gets a point. The people who just ran come to the ALT and get the new word.
Variations
- Gestures: Instead of touching a flashcard, students act out the word. Can be done with verbs, classroom phrases, animals, feelings, etc.
