Shingu, while not technically a part of Mie, might as well be for the ALTs in the south who do most of their shopping there. It is a Wakayama city which borders Kiho town to the south, and is where JR Tokai meets JR West. And as far as the deep south JETs are concerned, it is the big time with an Aeon, movie theater, KFC, Baskin Robbins, three McDonalds, and even a natural foods store and a (small, small) import foods store. Whenever someone in the south mentions getting pizza or curry for dinner, they usually mean in Shingu.
