Northern Mie

    This ridiculously dangerous May matsri consists of a horse getting lifted up to the top of a large wall
  • Suzuka : Nejaka Buddha Festival
    For two days a year in mid-March, a shrine in downtown Suzuka unveils its sleeping Buddha images.
  • Kameyama : Ōichi
    A three-day festival in January that celebrates Kameyama's heritage as stop in the Tōkaido.

Central Mie

  • Meiwa : Saiō Festival
    Two-day event in early June commemorating the arrival of the Saiō, a Heian-era imperial princess, in Meiwa
